Peaceful Protesters Gunned Down in Ethiopia

This video contains violent and disturbing images Viewer discretion advised. These people were killed during a crackdown by Ethiopian security forces. In November 2015, protests began in Ethiopia’s largest region of Oromia. Protestors oppose a government development plan that threatens to displace Oromo farmers. Security forces responded to the largely peaceful protests with lethal force, often firing into crowds. At least 400 protestors have been killed and thousands have been detained. Many of those killed were students. Protestors have continued to spread due to the brutal response and longstanding Oromo grievances. Protestors have been beaten or tortured in detention and many remain in detention without charge. There have been no credible investigations or justice for these abuses by Ethiopian security forces.

  3. Where is international crime court? why we pay tax to fund them if they are not doing their job! This is disgrace! Those perpetuators, Ethiopian regimes are killing their student at same time traveling to western country with out drying their human blood stain hand! Hope they will come to justice

  4. VOTE SANDERS.BEGIN A SANE POLICY TOWARD OTHER NATIONS THAT CAN BE THE
FOUNDATION FOR PEOPLES RIGHTS AND THE END OF POLITICAL AND RELIGIOUS OP-
    PRESSION,

  5. we'll get it what ever it costs us. Our God is just. Luv Oromo Ethiopia

  6. HARSH AND BRUTAL RESPONSE TO PEACEFUL PROTESTS IS NEVER ACCEPTABLE. IN OUR ENLIGHTENED GLOBAL COMMUNITY;THE ADDIS ABABA REGIME SHOULD UNDERSTAND THIS BETTER AS THE CUSTODIANS OF THE AFRICAN UNION HEADQUARTERS.. ETHIOPIA CAN ONLY REMAIN RESPECTABLE BY TREATING ITS LARGEST 50%- ETHNIC OROMO GIANT WITH CARE AND DIALOGUE,OROMIA= LAND SHOULD BENEFIT ITS FOOD PRODUCING FARMING COMMUNITY RATHER THAN GREEDY FOREIGN INVESTORS AND BUSINESSMEN.THANKS FOR THE GOV'T WITHDRAW OF THE MASTER PLAN OF EXPANSION-BUT MAKE SURE IT IS SHELVED FOR GOOD.WE DO NOT NEED MORE OROMO BLOODSHED.

  7. This is being done because muslims are buying up the land. This is done under the auspices of development but is in fact nothing else but islamic jihad.

  8. The Ethiopian government was dealing with a possible repetition of the Rwandan scenario in 93, yes the security forces were heavy handed at times ( the Ethiopian government itself acknowledged that fact and apologized about it and promised to investigate and bring to justice members of its own security forces that committed crimes, a fact that is not mentioned by you). The so called protesters were not at all entirely peaceful , as the self exiled anti government political groups that chose the way of armed terror , destabilization and anarchy to come to political power are calling them, the vast majority of them were mobs that were looting and destroying public and private properties, killing and physically attacking any person they deemed pro government, they were robbing peaceful travelers on the highways, and most of all they were bent on ethnic hatred and were actively attacking and threatening other ethnic groups living in the region peacefully. So it is a shame HRW just jumped on the bandwagon of the militant anti Ethiopian government forces without seeing the two sides of this story.

  9. Why do they blame the Amharas. All Ethiopians should unit against EPDRF

  10. This is anti government protest. Not white vs black, or jesus vs allah. Tigryna control all power and use con tactics against other two ethnic groups amhara and oromo.

  11. If it was Eritrea now the world Media will jumping maybe an attack like libya

  14. the UN can't do any thing when it's FAKE every thing they be putting in you tube or face book it's fake it's not in Ethiopia it's from anther country example in this video it's fake get close to it and paying attention to it you will see what i am talking abut what you been seen in you tube or facebook if it's was true believe me you would see it in BBC OR CNN so my suggest to you people is if you can't identify between fake one and the real one i suggest you to flow the international news like BBC or CNN by the way part of the little of that video is from eritrea the women who's biting the men

  20. This was not peaceful Protest at all, Human Rights should not be so SOFT on the Muslim who reclaim to named the Christian country as their own MUSLIM country. You should talk about religions protest not PEACEFUL! Shame on YOU HUMAN RIGHTS!

  21. Maybe the police should stop killing protesters or there might be more protesting.

  22. it's like an ethnic cleansing they are going through. I'm just not sure if its African's killing blacks, or blacks killing Africans.. it's all very sad.  lots of shootin' em up

  23. And now in israel if you throw on ethiopian man the whole ethiopian community will shut down roads and burn police cars and even people that did nothing to them!
